Today our Chieftain swimmers competed at the KR invite with 15 teams. Our girls have gone back and forth with Kenton Ridge several times so far this season and came to this meet driven to compete. We started down 28 points following the medley relay and slowly chipped away at the lead until finally passing KR and Springfield following the 200 Free Relay. The girls stayed strong throughout the final events of the meet to pull out the win. It is exciting to have tight competition and this fire brought some strong times out today.

Having seven of our fourteen girls place in all of their events and an additional two swimmers place in an individual event is promising. Our depth is strong and the girls continue to improve. We are starting to get excited about our upcoming conference match ups and post season and this is an additional motivator to push our athletes. We know that our future success depends on a full team effort and continue to look for the perfect line up. Our team competes next at home on Tuesday, 1/14 in the Logan County Meet, which is also senior night for the three Logan county teams. Races start at 6:30 PM with an announcement of seniors at the break following 50 Free.
