CBC Champions Northwestern handed Bellefontaine a 4 to 1 loss. “They have a very strong team from top to bottom. They have gone through the league undefeated with just one match remaining,” commented Coach Stein after the match.

In singles play Courtney Sims fell to Leah Fraker 0 – 6, 0 – 6. Samantha Starkey lost to Macy Yeager 0 – 6, 1 – 6. Fraker and Yeager are teaming up to play doubles at Sectionals and are seeded #2.

Mia Neer picked up the lone win for the Chiefs at 3rd singles downing Elizabeth Arnold 7 – 6 (6), 6 – 1. “Mia was down 2 – 5 in the first set before battling back to take the first set in a tiebreak. She went on to close out the second dropping just one game. Mia’s confidence really grew after coming back from so far down in that opening set”

The Warriors took both doubles matches. Na Lin and Gracie Middaugh fell to Allex Smith and Leah Dotson 1 – 6, 2 – 6. Meng Wang and Taryn Mullins lost to Kate Tanner and Gabby Lives 1 – 6, 1 – 6. In JV action Madison Williams and Pascaline Lakaye lost 0 – 8.

Bellefontaine falls to 8 and 11 overall and 6 and 7 in the CBC. The Chiefs close out the season Thursday when they host Urbana.
