Today’s meet was full of energy and excitement. Our swimmers were ready for this moment and it showed. I am proud of each of our athletes for their hard work throughout the season. Many of those who finished their season today did so in personal best times and everyone gave great effort.
Throughout the meet we had some great individual and relay moments. As seniors Amy Fulmer and Shelby Starkey won events and led their relays to first place finishes; while sophomores Sarah Starkey and Abby Kite had big performances moving on in all of their events as well. In addition, freshmen Sarah Fulmer swam two strong individual times including a backstroke time that would have advanced last season and helped to push two relays onto the next level. Finally, Chloe Reynolds, after having an imperfect day individually came on strong in the 400 free relay cutting 3 seconds from her previous best. Moving all 3 relays to the District level has been a huge goal of our team this season and our swimmers made this happen. We have some great potential with our District seeds and I am excited to watch the advancing swimmers step up to this next challenge!
District swimming for the girls will be held at Miami University Friday, 2/15 with races beginning at 5:45 PM.
