This was an amazing weekend to be a Chieftain swimmer! The boys started the excitement by qualifying a relay to Districts on Friday night and the girls followed up with fire on Saturday! This was a different year for our girls; we had to focus on balance and getting everyone to contribute more than ever and it showed at Sectional. The day started perfectly with our Medley Relay taking second and automatically qualifying to District competition. In the very next event, Sarah Starkey and Sarah Fulmer went one-two both automatically advancing. The day never really slowed down after that moment. I cannot express how proud of these athletes I was today; not just for their times but even more so for the outstanding effort and attitudes. Every single drop was earned. Every single qualifier fought to be where they finished.

In addition to all of the advancers above, nearly every swimmer dropped time today. For many swimmers this was their last meet of the season and they ended in incredible fashion. I am so proud of these athletes and absolutely loved watching them swim this weekend. The District Qualifiers will swim on Friday, 2/14 at Miami University with races starting at 5:45 PM.
