Bellefontaine fell to the Cougars 1 to 4 in tennis action Tuesday.
Courtney Sims picked up the lone win for the Chiefs at 1st singles. She beat Elli Schlintiz 6 – 4, 6- 4. ” This is the second match in a row this week that Courtney has beaten an opponent she had lost to earlier this season” commented Coach Stein after the match. ” She played a gritty match tonight as she was still worn out from a long tough match the night before.”
Playing 2nd singles Mia Neer lost to Ava Sullivan 3 – 6, 0 – 6. “Even though Mia came up short on the set scores, I felt she played some of her best aggressive tennis of the season.”
Gracie Middaugh playing her first match of the season in singles, fell to Molly Patton 3 – 6, 4 – 6. “Gracie was put in a tough situation playing her first singles match of the year against someone who has played the position all season. I thought she did a great job today. ”
In doubles, Samantha Starkey and Meng Wang fell to Abbey Holbrook and Gretche Helner 1 – 6, 1 – 6. Taryn Mullins and Leanna Brown lost to Hannah Brown and Chloe Bonvillian 3 – 6, 0 – 6.
