Saturday, January 2nd the Chieftain boys swimmers hosted Kenton Ridge in a dual meet at home. Kenton Ridge won the meet with 97 points to the Chiefs 46. Dual meets are tricky for smaller teams. While we are able to spread our boys out and score some solid points, we lose out on not having a second relay or extra scorer in each event. Despite the team score the Chiefs had a lot of great swims throughout the meet and every swimmer scored.
Scoring for the team and Personal Record Times (PR):
Aidan Mifsud – 2nd 200 Free (PR), 2nd 500 Free
David Moody – 3rd 200 Free (PR), 3rd 100 Back (PR)
Lucas Harrington – 2nd 200 IM, 3rd 100 Fly
Blake McDonald – 2nd 50 Free (PR), 3rd 100 Free
Elijah Merrin – 4th 50 Free (PR), 3rd 500 Free (PR)
John Fulmer – 5th 100 Free
Cooper Harman – 4th 500 Free, 4th 100 Breast
200 Free Relay – 2nd – Aidan Mifsud, John Fulmer, Blake McDonald, Lucas Harrington

The boys picked up 6 personal best times today after our toughest week of practice to date. David Moody had an especially strong day dropping 14 seconds in the 200 Free and 4 seconds in 100 Back. We are excited to get into some meets soon with more teams so that our size won’t be as impactful to our overall performance. These boys continue to get faster and stronger and I am very proud of them. The team competes next on Friday, 1/8 at Urbana YMCA.
