Last night the Chieftain swim team competed in a tri-meet at Tipp. With this being the second of a stretch with four meets over 7 days we decided to use this meet to try some new events or work on events that are out of our comfort zone. In return we saw lots of personal bests and improved form. Despite the loss, this was a very successful meet for our team.
Our top improvements for the boys:
Lucas Harrington – dropped 11 seconds in 200 Free and 1.5 in 100 fly
Blake McDonald – dropped 6 seconds in 200 Free and 3 seconds in 100 Free
Brandon Gamble – dropped 4 seconds in 200 IM
Aidan Mifsud – dropped 1.5 seconds in 100 free
David Moody – dropped 2 seconds in 100 free
Imanol Calderon – dropped 2 seconds in 100 breast
Christian Keene – PR in 50 Free
Preston Henry – PR in 50 Free

As coaches we were thrilled with the progress our swimmers are showing. We have been focused on underwaters and balancing our kicks and we saw many swimmers with improved skill in these areas. We believe it is best to take breaks from your usual races and this meet served it’s purpose well. The team is back in action today at Wittenberg for the Kenton Ridge Invitational with races beginning at 2 PM.
